Which is the best training collar out on the market today? I'm getting a new member of the family and want to have something to use to train with. I appreciate all the info that you can provide. Thanks.

I'm guessing that you mean "ecollar" ?
You don't train with an ecollar.

Doc yes you are correct, I meant e-collar. I also understand that it's not used for training but to reinforce commands. Poor choice of words on my part.

I bought the Dogtra Edge RT. I wouldn't say it's the best but I have been satisfied with it. The only feature it doesn't have that would be nice is a remote collar light.

I used to be a TriTronics fan --- but now I sure do like my Dogtra Edge RT.

It really depends how much money you want to spend and what features you want. (range, stim levels, expandability, bark limiter, beacon lights ...)

I test a lot of different systems and I would say the BEST two training collars, e-collars, shock collar or whatever you want to call them are the Garmin Pro 550 and Dogtra Edge RT. A lot of it comes down to personal preference.

I hunt and run field trials.Switched from TT to Dogtra Edge RT. Still have a Pro100 as my back up. Garmin has too many issues reported. Still decent customer service from what I hear. The Edge works great.

I guess that you'd rather that I give inaccurate advice huh ? :fp
But the advice you gave was wonderful. :scratch

BTW, Hog and Roy --- I know that both of you are still we behind the ears, but most dog people think of training collars as being choke collars or prong collars or other along those same lines..... Hang around here long enough and you'll gain a lot of knowledge.
