No metal clasp on mine. Just a rope that you tie from the platform to the climber.

Ive tried the summit and API and the LOne Wolf is far and away the best.

My neighbor who always argued with me that his summit or API were better than my LONEWOLF just gave in an bought a lone wolf after using mine once.

I have an API Grand Slam that I like due to the size and comfort. I also have a Lone Wolf that I use. It is light weight, comfortable and easy to get up a tree. I use the API when I am going to hunt an area for several days and leave the stand attached to the tree. I know Lone Wolf is not cheap but it something that you will only buy once and use it for many years.

I'm very happy with my Summit Bullet Backpacker and can snooze for hours in it, although I wouldn't mind the extra room of the Goliath for stretchin' out. :D

If/when I get another climber I'll look hard at the Lone Wolf Alpha Sit-n-Climb just due to the lighter weight. I don't know that it is any more comfortable than the Summit since I've never been in one.
