    Gonna buy something cheap(resonable) to keep in the truck all the time for coyotes and other critters, the only thing I know is that it will be a .223, opinions please

    How much do you want to spend,,,,first thing that come to mind is a Stevens 200 that you can find cheap at WalMart or a big box store.

    Also look at the Marlin 7...Savage Edge.... the Vanguard ...and look around the gunshops for a used ADL 700 in good shape.

    Could also look at an AR running stock iron sights, simple, effective, easy.

    I used to have a beat up, ugly Rem 788 that was super accurate and a great knock around truck rifle.

    Thompson Center Venture hands down. Its maybe $500 with 3 shot 1" moa accuracy.

    I got one in a .30-06. Great gun, amazing build, impeccable accuracy.

    Savage Edge can't be beat. $250 bucks, ugly, and will put a hole in a hole
