    Reciprocal tariffs would solve this.

    Tariff war helps nobody
It is easy to say we are not affected when we throw another XX Billion to cover our losses... The bill will come due eventually.

So, who is footing the bill now, for the Chinese tariffs currently in place?

Tariffs and the resulting trade deficit built China and keeps the EU afloat....

Seems like they work pretty well when used correctly.

We have leverage over China, we finally have a President who realizes this and is acting on it.

Seems like the tariffs are driving the Chinese and others to the negotiating table according to the article. Before they would just thumb their noses at us and steal our intellectual property while forcing our corporations to build plants in China.

I believe @10GAGENUT said Catapillar had to build a plant in China to sell in China.

That is where the bill gets paid...cut off China's access to the World's largest buyer economy. Go ahead and $60 Billion tariff us. We don't need your stinkin coffee makers and fly ash wallboard.

    Go ahead...Make our day.

The Chinese told Caterpillar if they wanted to sell their machines in China they had to be built in Chinese plants manned by Chinese workers. Most other large companies have had the same restrictions put on them by the Chinese government.
This is the part of the trade imbalance we as Americans don't directly see, not only are jobs taken away from U.S. workers in many of these companies but the Chinese also steal technology and production trade secrets from major manufacturing companies by requiring these restrictions.

A statement by a farmer friend at a wedding last night to others. "Short term pain for long term gain, you guys for most part have never had it tough. Buck up stop being Nancy's !"

I think most get it but are worried about Dems getting control and breakthroughs up.
