Have you read or heard that now Jerry considers the Tunnels a replumbing of the existing system and all current recipients of the CWP have to pay their share based on water they get from CWP or find someone to take their palce. Westland says it would add another $475 an acre foot making it $600 or more for an acre foot of water and that no crops could support that water cost. Westlands wants all districts in the state even Northern CA water districts to pay for it, so their costs would go up only $175 or so an acre foot according to the Sac Bee aka rag article yesterday. If you don't pony up, you are out of the CWP is the threat. Westlands also wants some guarantees on water. Be interesting to see how Westlands Directors vote or don't vote at the meeting today.

Sounds like a good time to get into the deep well drilling business.

There's an article in the latest DU issue. Brown is full of himself.
He thinks he can do or say anything. He's a dangerous politician.

I am inclined to believe none of what I hear and about half of what I see.

It sounds like Trump told him to pound sand. I wonder who he is going to get the money from for the bullet train. Sounds like DMV fee's are going thru the roof again.

My guess is that when they could get some cheap water from the delta, pay a higher price for additional water, and then pump more water, the blended price made it work out OK. But if the cheap water goes up to $600/ft then the extra water will go up too. AND the cheaper ground water will be shut down. They can't afford all that. So they will just keep fighting to get what they can until more and more go out of business and the few survivors take over the water rights from those that quit.
