    Yeah that was my mistake for assuming instead of researching :eek: In fact I am looking to pick up a black rifle for the yotes :tu Since your in California know of any good stores with a selection?

    Due to where i'm located I bought a stag lower reciever from a company in washington and had it shipped to my local FFL, and built the gun my self. for you, you might e close enough to 10 Percent Firearms in Taft, he has a good selection of "Black " Rifles and parts in stock.

    Heres my kali. leagal cotote gun.

    I yote hunt with either a Ruger Varmiter in 223 or a Ruger 243 with 55 grain Ballistic Tips loaded to 220 Swift Speeds.

    including tools I got about 800 into it. I just watched for deals and bought parts as they came on sale. Took about 3 months to gather all the parts.

    I just read an article about the new Savage rifle in 6.5 284.
    A real longe range tack driver at a very low price. Guys are posting very small groups at 600+ yards right out of the box.
    (This would fit the category of an ultimate, heavy, coyote rifle for those looking for one).

    I shoot a sporter weight (old style, tang safety), Ruger Model 77 in .220 Swift that I accurized and it is a joy to hunt with when you are hiking around.

    I shoot a win in 243 wssm and they dont move after the shot iwth the 75 grain v-max
