Check out this giant Greylag goose. It's about the size of a greater Canada but thicker.A flock of these were seen before Christmas on the Ponderay River. At first I thought it was an escapee from a farm but after doing research found that they flew a bit off course. They are from the Netherlands and surrounding areas! Crimeny. I would have thought i shot a Tule goose. Geez that thing is big. A friend of mine shot two Russian Bean geese in California while sculling once. He said they looked like they walked all the way from Russia, very skinny.

I shot one of those 18 years ago in Utah. I was embarrassed because I thought it was a farm goose. Found out later it was an likely an escapee from a bird collector

That's very cool. There is a flock of geese that look similar to them that show up every year in Spokane river front park. I always assumed loose farm goose but now I will have to pay more attention.
