Opening Day was poor, only had a few opportunities and ended up with 2 birds. On Sunday we tried a different area and had a little more activity, but it didn't last long. Good news was no other hunters. Going back to hunt Monday and Tuesday, but expecting ice may be a problem.

fought the ice fri, sat & sun got a little break from it Monday and Tuesday and managed a few birds. oddly enough had a group of 4 pintails buzz us on Saturday morning when we were looking the other direction, all immature. still a few teal around which I found strange.

Hunted Monday, no ice, but it snowed most of the morning. It was hard to pick out drakes.

I added my partner's pintail which was the only one we saw. Had a small flock of woodies come by, but we only managed one. Tuesday was a better weather day, but we only shot one drake mallard. Very few birds flying in the spot we hunted on Tuesday.
