Have caught plenty of salmon before using snap on weights, boards and just long line them on plugs and spoons and using just Trilene 10# XT. I have seen that the Dipsy Divers can get down to 60'. If using the divers, can I get by just using the 10# test XT that I have done well with before or would I have to go to something like Fireline using the divers?

Any other helpful advice using these Dipsy's would be great! Thanks.

Don't try to pull dipsies with mono you won't be able to trip them. Get some braid on the reels that you want to pull dipsies on, set the trip on the dipsies as light as you can to stay set, I think the # is about 3 pounds. The smaller the diameter line you use the more depth you will get out of the dipsie. I used to use a braid called Mean Green, it was very small diameter for the lb. test, I now use Power Pro 30 lb. test.
