His last article was just published in the latest du issue. I got to hunt with him a couple years ago. A real gentleman. A true ambassador for our passion.

As i mentioned in the original post here in the main forum last December about his totally unexpected death, I had just hunted with Wade for three days before he died. Stunned to get a call two days later saying he had died in his driveway while cutting the base off the family Xmas tree.

Wade was a wonderful mentor to many hunters, young and old, ducks to turkeys. Perhaps the greatest media representative our sport has ever had. Great friend, wonderful family, and much admired and appreciated.

Wade was a member of SEOPA (South Eastern Outdoor Press Assoc.). This year's annual conference was down at KY Lake last week. A tribute to Wade was held on the bank near KY Dam State Park and the tree he was cutting when he passed away was added to a fish attractor location accessible to both bank and boat fishermen. A painting was presented to his widow and several spoke of fond memories they had shared with him. It was a nice tribute

Indeed it was a very special memorial. Saw quite a few tears.

I hate to hear this. I always like his show Advantage outdoors it wasn't the cookie cutter junk that hunting shows have become now. He was a gentleman and a great representative of our sport. Receive your reward in heaven Wade.
