on Sunday. A breeder with two Chocolate lab pups [eight weeks old] told me that the chocolate lab do not suffer "hip dysplasia" common "only to black labs."

    How accurate is this statement?

Well, you can look at it a couple of ways. What is the history of the chocolate lab? 1) Bred by conscientious folk looking to better the breed or 2) Someone looking to make a quick buck off of something different. Before I get chewed out, there are darn good, healthy chocolates out there, not what I'm saying. But to say they are less likely to have HD, I say BS.

I doubt that there is any significant difference in the rate of HD in any of the colors! I have a clf (spayed) that has a slightly dyspeptic hip (sire and dam were good and excellent). LL

Dyspeptic ? Is that the Norsky version of spelling dysplastic ? :sp
Look up the definition of dyspeptic --- does your dog have it's stomach in it's butt ? :l
