First gun was a Mossberg pump. Was my only shotgun from when I was 12 until I purchased my VM when I was 22. Used it for everything from hunting to trap. It was a good gun but the last 3-4 of it's excistance it went downhill fast. The receiver and parts where so wore it would fail to eject shells, ram the next one into the bolt lock recess, or drop them out the bottom. The receiver was so wore out the timing and alignment was so out of whack the gun is a basically a single shot. Buddies old Mossberg is about 6 years old and showing the same signs.

I’m a little over 20 years with my M1. Probably 20-25k rounds through it. Still going strong. Thanks for the great testament to how crappy mossbergs are!

My 835 essentially lasted my high school years. Replacement guns are great unless your down a gun in the 1st week of November.
My 870 is nearly 20, a multi season athlete, and still flawless.

"The more you spend on a gun the better shooter you will be or something like that."

I was told this on the Wisconsin forum.
