If that's a mottled, I'd sure like to know the info from that band.
Interestingly enough he was destined for a taxidermist before I pulled the trigger.
One of the “plantation bottoms” members from the TN forum called and asked for a pair of Drakes so he could do all the mallard species in North America. The gentlemen who own and hunt plantation bottoms treated me like a family member (red headed stepchild ) when I lived in Nashville and I’m always happy to return the favor.
So he will be sent along with the one I shot yesterday morning as thank you gifts. The band will stay with me....
It was a northern aggressor mottled duck he flew from belle glade Florida all the way down to the Everglades. Carpetbagger killed.
37 is 11 degrees warmer than I had yesterday and 19 higher than I had Tuesday. I had the two best days of hunting this season for sure and maybe of the last two seasons.
A blind hog will find an acorn every once in a while
Knowing those gentlemen, and having been to Plantation Bottoms, they'll have a worthwhile home.
Maybe provide good pics of the band and it an be replicated for the mount. I had a taxidermist screw up a tagged Muskie so they offered to provide a replica at no cost. I required they also replicate the metal tag and thankfully they did a good job the second time.
Aren't you guys forecasted for 2 inches of snowing or something on Saturday?
Frankly, shocked that you might associate with such fine (bait )famers. Surely, you wouldn't hunt there?????
BTW, nice banded mottled duck. Id like to see a pick of the head (and bill).
