    If you want ducks in that impoundment, do not let them stay overnight, they will eat you out of house and home very quickly.

    (Clock is an hour ahead)
    Then the fly out around seven Am.
    Quite the conundrum :):)

    You are in Dorchester, I think night gunning is still acceptable.

    You are mistaken woodsie, those are the ghosts of geese that you have killed that want revenge. I would probably stay clear of that place a night.

    I think you are right. If you can keep them out. If you have food they will want back in during the day.

    When it starts freezing up, and thawing in the middle of the day, our impoundments are on fire in the afternoon. The birds panic and come in to roost before dark, and we have had some fantastic shoots starting around 2:30 on those artic blasts.

    I would put a ice water in there and then watch them and see what they do. They might come back early to loaf if you have food and water for them . Just my 2 cents
