Killed a few geese over the weekend. Total body count is over 100 birds. Snow count is about 20 birds, specs make up the balance.

Proverbial Golden BB defined. To be fair, this bird was killed within 35 yards and he had plenty of holes in his body. I just like the picture!

I despise snows. I wish we killed more than 20 over the weekend. We saw multiple grinds of over 5k geese every day on the fields we were hunting. They wouldn't come anywhere near us. The specs were clearly a bit more cooperative.

I need to come shoot some specks with y'all! That's a cool bird and I'd like to hunt them before I die.

The majority of the 20 snows killed were part of large grinds that passed just close enough for an opportunity. We only had one group of 4 finish and we dumped all 4 of those.

Other than that, I would say about 40k geese avoided our 1000 decoy spread of socks and full bodies (I know that's small by most snow standards). We had bigger groups with a few that got close but we were hoping the larger group of several hundred would swing so we let them pass. Hindsight says we could have killed 40 to 50 more had we shot the edges instead of waiting for the middle that never came over.

I'm not complaining. I don't care for snow goose meat anyway.
