Famine to Feast to Famine. Got zilched today. No teal and only saw one Wood duck.

Dove hunting has been slower for me than in past years. Always seemed like the farmers sprayed manure on fields soon after they were cut, really shutting them down. Had one good resident goose shoot near home. Friends on the shore killed a few greenwings on public.

I got zilched again but my budz got 5 in our hour long hunt. I did however have a pair of mallards just plain "doit". Made my morning.

I did not do any teal hunting this season sadly, been mating rock fish charters on the weekends. We ended up with 87 resident geese and 7 bands. Been scouting for first split of duck looks promising along the patuxent . Just glad to see migrating waterfowl!

Visited my wood duck hole today...my "water retention device" had failed and I had a dry hole. That, my friends, is a shame. On the positive side the seed I planted in there has come along nicely!

Who can forget that thread one of the classics on this forum. Agree with forum dying sad to see but like others as we get older priorities change and time becomes sparse. Still enjoy the forum just can't put in the time I used to.

What a shame. Unforunately that can happen as we get grayer! Must have done something right though if the seed took.LOL

I think it will pick up again once we all start hunting.
