I see the Guv'na blasting Ethanol opponents... I see the upside for big farmers.. but the loss to habitat seems enormous.. is there any negative side to Ethanol in Iowa?

The negative is that it increases non point sources to our waterways. Now I am supportive to some level of ethanol but lets be clear here. Yes you can add it as a fuel to your car or truck but YOU CANT DRINK GAS. Water on the other hand is the foundation for survival. At some point one can only clean the water so much before it becomes cost prohibitive to the taxpayers and then advocates for ethanol production are going to be facing certain Regulatory problems and could in fact be faced with the financial burden itself to clean up the waters instead of taxpayers.
