My ALL-TIME favorite Bass lure is a Large Deerhair Popper just after the Sun has set......on a 6 weight Flyrod.
A "glasstop" pond with the shadows darkening, katy-dids chirping their evening song and the Bullfrogs tuning-up.
As Geirach wrote in one of his books..."Damn, it's electric, man!"

I love to fish those plastic rats over milfoil beds. The bass hit'em so hard, they knock'em in the air sometimes. You just have to force yourself to wait to set the hook.
I also really like Zara Spooks. Seeing a bass hit that thing in mid walk makes your heart stop.

I like the Wart Famly Crank Baits...Subwort, midwart, wiggle wart and the Rattle Traps i like both of those for the large mouth bass

For white bass when their chasing the shad i like to use a 4" Glow/Chart. Tail wedge tailed minnow their killers on the whites and wipers...

Depending on season, water temp., and depth.
My favorite though is a Senco june bug colored soft plastic, coated with a layer of Kickin Bass garlic.
They both sponsor me too  :D

If the fish are just biting anything, then it would be topwater.

I caught my biggest bass on a ghost colored rattletrap, 10.5lbs. My go to lure has always been a black/blue tail culprit worm, depending on the lake I'll either fish it texas riged or carolina rigged.
