What kind of line do you prefer?

  1. My favorite line, Berkley Iron Silk is becoming hard to find. I bought everything they had when walmart closed it out a couple years back and I am down to my last 100 yards. I am in need of 8 and 10 lb test for walleye, bass, crappie, and whatever else swims these lakes. Antbody have any suggestions for good line?

Any of the braided lines? They are a little more expensive, but down here on the coast, you deal with oysters, rocks, and teeth. I love power pro and stren super braid. Give it a try as it is not as stiff as the iron silk.:tu

I guess I'm just old school. I prefer Stren Easy cast in clear. Does the job I need it to do.

for me it depends on where and how i am fishing to what line id be using. i like braid for thick stuff and the hookset, but i hate how it tears up plastic rod eyes and how its stiff in a baitcasting rod. most of the time i will use 8-12 pd mono for things like texas rigging worms on flats spin baits and cranks

P-Line has more memory than an elephant, it sux!! I like braided except it turns white. I used to use spider wire until it turned white. Is there any other braid out there that does not turn white??

Speaking of memory, the Mr. Crappie line comes off the spool like a corkscrew. Lesson learned.

braid turning white is it wearing or drying out. basically it has a sealer to keep the strands together and when it starts to change color it is loosing that sealer.
