Ruffed grouse on October 13th. Don't know if the Woodcock season dates have been set yet. Can't wait.

Blue grouse on the opener, Sept. 1st. An 11 yr. tradition hunting the same cover. We were down there last week mushroom hunting, not many mushrooms but never seen so many grouse! If we're just a little bit lucky bandtails will be our secondary targets.

The blue grouse are pretty good eating, I'm guessing?

I never got to hunt out west, just trout fish. Much different grouse cover than I'm used to. Looks fun as hell.

Doves September 1, but what I'm really looking forward to are Sage Grouse in mid September.

"A Bird In The Hand" .....and I highly recommend it to any Bird hunting fanatic such as myself.
I suppose I'll have to face the "Rider on the Pale White Horse" as far as actual hunting goes as I'm at the age where blocking at the far end of the field is a better alternative.
Now, if we can just find a field with Pheasants in it............
