My CLM is just over a year old and still has not calmed down yet. At what age do males seem to calm down? He aways is doing some thing, never just lays around. Mostly chasing the wifes cat around the house, playing with the kids.

I would not count on it any time soon. I have one that just turned a year old. The rate he is going I am hoping he settles down around 5.! :D

Mine is 22 mos. and still acts like a 3 mo. old puppy. Everytime I get home he does this little dance, where he's shaking his tail so hard that his whole butt shakes. That's when I remind myself that I still have a pup on my hands.

Every one is differant. My older male calmed down by the time
he was ready to hunt. He has the ability to turn it on
when it's time to work then lay down in the corner when
    he gets home.

I have a five year old female that plays like a pup
and acts like a fool. But we love her and wouldn't
    have it any other way.

My 6 mo old went to the vet the other day, which happens to be the owner of the sire of my dog. The receptionist recognizing the pups enthusiasim, looks at me with a SERIOUS look on her face and tells me" Zippy, the sire acts just like this and he is 8 yrs old" OH NO!.... I hear it is common for the Trumarc's line. Zip code,Hot persuit, Welter weight. Has anyone heard this about these champs?

Sometimes, but not always. I have soon to be 4year old and he has not slowed down since I got him. He has a tendency to throw that to his pups too. If you really want to tone him down give him some ACE , just kidding. Jane

I have a CLF that is about to turn 3 and I have been asking people the same thing. This is her second hunting season and just now will she sit still in the blind. Atleast for the first hour! If the shooting is slow then she wants to find someting to do.
