White privilege debate

I had to stop watching when she said black people can't be racist. Amazing......

 

There's quite a good number of folks in this world who believe white folks own racism. They believe, when any other race is doing racist things, it's reverse-racism (which in my mind means "not racist"). These folks are idiots. It's just best to ignore them.

White privilidge my arse. My grandfather, one generation away had the privilidge to be orphaned at 8 years old in Europe. He had the privilidge to work in the mines like a mule. He had the privilidge to travel to the mines in Wales and Scotland to find work in a country he couldnt speak the language. He had the privilidge to come to America and work the mines in Pennsylvania. He had the privilidge of receiving a 3 grade education and sent out to the world at 8. He had the privilidge of entering a tailor shop sweeping floors, marrying and having 11 kids buying a chicken coop for a first house, and a better one later, and paying it off and supporting them all, never asking for a cent he never earned. His kids had the privilidge of fighting in WWII and the girls working into the night M-Sat for the war effort while their brothers, sweethearts, and school friends were dieing in war. They all had the privilidge to work hard their whole lives, save their money, send their kids to college.
My Dads side had the privilidge to come to America and work hard and start a salughter house with saved money over many years, act responsibly and work hard starting, owning, and maintaining and expanding a business and losing it after a couple of generations due to the Depression.
I had the privilidge of mowing lawns at 12 and being in the work force before it was legal at 16. No hanging in the hood for me. Went to my privilidged Community College when my parents barely could afford it while my father recovered from a heart attack with no income, self employed.
Had the privilige to work at the bottom level in a technical profession, worked my way up into a top arena and then worked my way into running a small 3 man facility. Had the privilidge al that time to raise a family, pay all my bills and saved hard for retirement. Had the privilidge to crawl under our cars in all weather to bust knuckles to save money to this day in my mid 60’s.
Had the privilidge to work with my wife to make our kid a success in all levels of school, go to a top college and do well and see him use his 100% earned privilige (2 years of interniing 30 hours a week while school full time) to be snapped up by a really good company.
For generations we worked hard, sacreficed while others had nice cars, vacations, booze,clothes. We towed the line many years after my Grandfather towed the coal cart like a mule, in rags, with little to eat.

Cowboy privilege, too, apparently.

A marketing campaign adopted by the University of Wyoming in Laramie centered on the slogan: "The world needs more cowboys" has run into trouble as faculty members and Native American groups say it excludes women and people of color.

"In a vacuum, the term ‘cowboy’ appears gender and perhaps race specific but in the context of the branding campaign it is connected to images and words that show our cowboys are diverse, of every sex and background,” university spokesman Chad Baldwin said.

Darrell Hutchinson, cultural specialist with the Northern Arapaho Tribe in Wyoming, said the slogan implied that people who do not fit the stereotypical image of a cowboy – a white man with a wide-brimmed hat riding the range on horseback – are not welcome.

“If you’re not a white person and especially if you’re an Indian, it would make you feel out of place - it wouldn’t make you feel too good about yourself,” he said.

I heard on the Rush Limbaugh show a black Professor from Geo. Washington Univ. say the same thing- this was a few years ago. The word 'RACIST' according to him was a white man's word! Hmmmm? He stated that minorities are "Prejudice" not "Racists!"

 

Please... Please... tell me this guy thinks cowboys and Indians fought just like in the movies! I need a laugh. It's also odd that he thinks folks of color would find cowboys to be inclusive of only white folks, as about 60% of cowboys back in the day were Mexican or black.

 

What a selfish racist person you must be. Keeping all the slaughter house jobs, mines, chicken coops, tailor shops, coal carts, and vehicles to crawl under for yourself and your family. You could have redistributed some of that work with a person of color, but nooooo. You should be ashamed. I hope the video has made you realize the error of your ways.
