I had mused earlier about the keel on some old herters I used to use, and it’s hard to tell from the pics of your dekes, but that herters keel was more if a mild hump on the bottom, with weight in it. It didn’t catch much water at all, and those foamers would move a good bit better than typical keeled dekes. I’ll get with you about details and options after the new year. Our keel is deeper than Herters was for the ability to hold them. But the balance of the decoy is the key. As you see in the video our decoys move way more than Herters do.
What species are you talking about?
I’m looking for a smattering of mallard, black duck, wood duck, and maybe some teal or others....mainly mallards and wood ducks. Pure backwater setup that I don’t have to worry about movement or durability on.
