Funny how they were blaming all the invasive species on their reduced numbers, smallmouth, walleye, an catfish, which is why they took all limits off those fish on the Columbia river.
More political b.s., because they can't or won't address the real problems the salmon face, sea lions, nets an over fishing in the ocean.

Can anyone imagine a sea lion thinning here in Ca? Good heavens the huggers would be ripping their eyes out worse than if it were human babies being killed.

The largest factor in the declining numbers of salmon in this state is destruction of habitat. The problem was caused by politics, so it follows the solution must be as well.

I have seen this first hand on the Willamette and Columbia rivers when I lived in Oregon. They eat the bellies from the hen salmon and steel-head and toss the rest. Some years ago someone got fed up and was sniping them on the Willamette below the falls. The tree huggers went insane.
