looking for everyone's thoughts and opinions on their favorite WOOD for a duck call TONE BOARD. I have used a bunch coco, hedge, maple. Just seeing what everyone else thoughts are. I have still yet to try a ABW duck call or or ABW tone board in a duck call so i may go that route. So what does everyone like??

Brazilian teak was my go to wood for a long time, I have also been using katalox for a while because its very similar to teak but darker. I have a bunch of mora that I'm going to start playing with when I get some free time.

Music grade simply refers to the fact that the wood if free of knots and defects. Good straight grain wood.

    ABW as well here

My two favorite wood toneboards have both been hedge - but I can't claim to have run nearly as many as the call makers posting.

I think African Blackwood is a good choice because its density helps resist warpage and water/saliva effects. Musical Grade is getting expensive.
Lignum vitae is denser but based on call makers posts, it may go too far in that direction at the expense of sound quality.
