wooster oh

    I will be moving to Wooster OH in about 6 months. Anyone know how the waterfowl hunting is around there?

    plenty of public and private land within a short distance of wooster.
    lots of farm land in that area, just need to get out and drive around.

    also one of the best county fairs around

    Pretty good area. I also think there is a duck club in Wooster. Don't know anything about membership or fees.

    As has been mentioned you have pretty good, for Ohio, local hunting. Killbuck marsh has waterfowl and waterfowl hunters. You also aren't too far from Lake Erie.

    Sounds like a good place to be at. Anyone know anythinkg more about that duck club? Also does anyone know if there is any land for sale up that way?

    I've looked into it a bit. 7-10 year wait list. Initial $12K buy in plus annual membership fee of approxiamtely $1K.

    12K to get into a duck club in that area? That's crazy. There's a ton a marshland, rivers, ponds, and lakes in that area. Plenty of good public hunting and getting permission to hunt private land should be easy. Most of the people around there are deer hunters. Brush up on your goose calling and buy another dozen silos.

    Let's just say there's places to go. :yes

    mastaquacka - all I can contribute here is birds are around (many locals) and we're not exactley in a flyway. Frankly...scout the public areas hard - find the nooks and crannies. Private land is best for field layouts on geese.
