“ Word of life speak to my weary heart. Strengthen my broken parts. Lead me to Your open arms. Word of truth illuminate all these lies. The enemy speaks inside in freedom I will rise.”

    Luke 6:31-36

31 And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise.

32 For if ye love them which love you, what thank have ye? for sinners also love those that love them.

33 And if ye do good to them which do good to you, what thank have ye? for sinners also do even the same.

34 And if ye lend to them of whom ye hope to receive, what thank have ye? for sinners also lend to sinners, to receive as much again.

35 But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil.

36 Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful.

My Bible’s side note says these verses that Christ spoke to us are the Requirements of the Spiritual Life. They could also be called the Duty to Neighbors, Brotherly Love and have been called the Golden Rule.

It is easy to love those that love us right? How about a druggie, a drunk, a drug dealer, a prisoner, a rapist, a bum, someone that offended you or hurt you, or someone that is not from your side of the tracks? We can’t get anything from those that have nothing so we decide not to love them or are not the type of person we would normally hang with.

Christ tells us to hope for nothing but to love them like Christ loves us. I used to always be willing to help but I kept a record in my mind of those I did so that I could expect something from them back or expect something from them in the future.

Matthew 5:39-48: 39 But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also. 40 And if any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloke also. 41 And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain. 42 Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away. 43 Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy. 44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; 45 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust. 46 For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same? 47 And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so? 48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

Do we love our enemies? Do we curse those that curse us or love them and pray for them? Do we do good to those that hate us or love them and pray for them? Do we only speak to our brothers and sisters in Christ? Believe me, I would love to do that than speak to people that are not walking in Christ but Christ says that I am to love them too. Many Godly men loved me when I was walking in the darkness. Thank you Father GOD for those people that did as you have commanded us to do, by loving me enough to show me Christ.

Before, during and after my trial, I learned what the love of GOD was. First from my Father GOD and second from many people that were there no matter what had happened. That was the light of Jesus Christ shining through them. GOD used believers and non-believers to love my family and me.

So today, be merciful as your Father GOD is to us. Love them like Christ first loved us, expecting nothing in return, not holding any “ they owe me account ” and boasting not of what we did but only for the glory of GOD. Touch someone today in Christ’s name.

“ We sing Hallelujah. You're my portion. My salvation. Hallelujah. You're my portion. My salvation.”

Amen. Without being born again this would be impossible. No one but Jesus Christ tells you to love those that hate you, persecutes and says all kinds of evil about you. If your a Christian it won't take long before you find this to be true.
