I have some herters 72 & 81 divers that I'm considering having coated. Is it worth the money to coat them?

The 81's I've never seen before in canvasbacks. I know they're just the goose bodies painted as cans.

What is everyone's thoughts and opinions?

    Thanks!!

They look like they are in pretty good condition. Are you sure they even need to be coated?

I agree. I'd hunt them until they need refurbishing then I'd restle coat them.

Herters made the 81's in canvasbacks also. That body was used for brant lifesize geese supermag puddlers and super mag divers. Homer decoys has some awesome brant heads that will work perfect on that body. However I agree with the others , those appear to be in very good shape.

I like burlapped decoys and have a few geese mixed in that i assembled from Fowl Foolers. Easy enough to paint with a non-complex pattern. I'm a garbage air brusher so it's actual brushes for me and it's still not artwork. Got the paint from Sherwin Williams. Fowl Foolers does sell the components that you'd need, like adhesive and burlap. I would, however, wait until your current paint has died off. ill upload pictures when i get some electronic cooperation.

Again, not works of art or divers for that matter, but fun none the less. Maybe it will give OP an idea what it would look like.

They don't need the coating, I was just debating if I should get them done.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. They are in really good shape, the holes to attach the heads weren't broke through yet.

That means they were never used. Good find
