I have always wanted to hunt ducks and or geese near the mountains. I don't have much knowledge of the state of Wyoming but have been doing some research. Is there available public land for waterfowling or are there any resources anyone could point me toward for a do it yourself hunt or would you recommend a guided hunt?

    Thanks.

I was always told people aren't too friendly in Wyoming but I never believed it.

Not a whole lot of people on here from WY, and those that are may not be near any mountains. Might take that into consideration before making blanket statments about friendliness...

There's plenty of info on the internet. Might start with WY Game and Fish.

They are some of the best people around. They have learned to make their own way in life.

I apologize if that statement offended you Big Sky. I have a number of friends and some family in Wyoming, however, none of them are of the waterfowling breed.

Dependss on which mountains and which side of them you wish to hunt. Wyoming has a lot of public ground and water to hunt on. If you want to get the feel of an area, by all meens get a guide. If you want a Buddy hunt, well, not sure. Guess find a Buddy first.

Next time I'm out I'll set some extra days aside if I can to check out some public ground.

    Thanks for the replies fellas.
