i was deer hunting up an old logging road when two does came busting out of the brush right in front of me, crossed the road in a hurry, then went into the thick stuff on the other side. i was pretty bummed for missing the opportunity for salami when i heard a twig snap and this guy stepped out about 15 yards infront of me. so i just couldnt pass up on a shot like that so i popped him in the neck with my .243 and he went down in a hurry. he definately has one of the nicer pelts i've seen. also he had a silver patch of hair on the tip of his tail, so i'm guessing he is a bit older?

    Nice yote.

But, I gotta say, a .243 looks like an interesting cartridge for hunting in that thick stuff....

yeah i hunt some clearings up there and a nice cedar grove so the shots are actually pretty open once you get to where i hunt. on the way up though, if its not in the road, you probably arent going to be shooting it. i was actually walking back to the truck when i got him, and that is why the does took me by suprise.
