Sounds like somebody has committed this same offense. Even one bird over the limit, is over the limit.

I wonder if the judge gets to keep any bands these birds had and proudly display them at future trials?

That is what you got out of that post??? Good detective work newbi! However, don't sit and tell me you have never had an accident while hunting. If that is your claim you are a liar or have hunted very little in your life.

This incident was no where close to being an accident and they were caught and fined heavily.

Compared to JF, these guys got off relatively easy ...

When in Canada - retrieve wounded ducks and kill them immediately.

For many the $$ fines are less of an issue than loss of hunting rights. Keeping them out for 3 or even 5 years would have been a bigger penalty and deterrent to future potential violators.

Maybe the Canadian border patrol just won't let them cross over anymore.

Since you are comparing the fines how about comparing the offenses? Apples and oranges.

The cop confiscated mine. Merely being from out of country meant that I got special treatment.

You will be back simply because goods are cheaper in the US. The GST tax that I pay up there for everything is simply insane. Just stating the facts.

Because one person was convicted over the limit many times along with other offenses and was given a much larger fine vs. 5 guys getting caught once with a little over 10 birds a piece, you believe the fines should be similar? Maybe you can explain the two better since you seem to know more.

Next time you or one of the guys in your group makes a mistake just take your gun and truck to the nearest CO and give it to them. :l
