your Starbuck's cup has a quote from "A Purpose Driven Life".
Nice, but I don't think we are in a Christain nation....are we?
AW.........good perception.......beating a dead horse, kicking a dead dog ,or whatever does apply to this topic............SF
AR I think we use to be. I remember as a child of the 50's that on Sunday the whole city of Norfolk VA shut down...the entire state of VA shut down. We had what was known as a "*blue law" and other that gas and food (alcohol was not sold either)....you couldn't buy it.
I see us moving "away" rapidly from any semblance of the "perceived Christian nation" some of us once knew.
You know you're in a "christian" nation when you crack open your fortune cookie at a Chines restaurant and it says "God bless you" or "Jesus saves!" I've had that happen, too.
I had a fortune cookie that said, "You are the greatest in the World!"
...of course, y'all probably knew that already!
When the government puts god on items it makes.
When they insert god into a public schools and make kids recite "under god"
When people can complain about the most common religion without getting their head lopped off.
When kids didn't kill each other and teachers in school... , sorry that was before the Bible and prayer was taken out of the schools.
Hate to say it, but I don't think America is a christian 'nation' anymore. The nation was founded by Christians, but it has only taken a little over 200 years to move a long way away from it.
