Anything by Jim Spencer. Bobby Dale is good too.

    Also,
Anything by Jim Casada is a guaranteed good read, and he's written some turkey books.

So I was just window shopping the Mack’s spring sale magazine, and Primos is selling a call named after a turkey book written by Charles Whittington, called ‘Tall Timber Gabriels’. Can’t find it on Amazon for purchase or download. Anyone read it? I’d like to, if a copy can be had.

Tall Timber Gabriels is a fine read. Casada sells a copy or two when he finds them - for about $500 -$1000 depending on condition.

Lovett E. Williams has some good ones! Not too long ago I read a good hunting tips book by the late Ben Lee. One thing he urged hunters to do was take a nap if need be, just remember to keep one eye open. I remember practicing that maneuver riding back with my brother in law and his sons after all day fishing trips in the Keys- I was really tired and they would not let me sleep so I kept one eye open towards them and the other closed and managed some "shut-eye".:tu

I spent a few minutes with Col. Kelly down at the NWTF Convention a few days ago. A great man, a great writer, a great ambassador for turkey hunters. He claims this was his last show. The travel, the countless colds and sniffles he gets exposed to, and the time sitting in an uncomfortable chair for two solid days is getting to be to much for him. I'll miss him. Seeing him there, having him ask how last season went, his honest excitement while listening to tales of past hunts. He lives for the sport. It isn't turkey season until my tattered copy of The Tenth comes down from the shelf each spring.
