    my dad's a taxidermist and he actually learned through the mail when he was in high school. he's owned his own place for over 30 years now. he just does it on the side, though. he enters some of his mounts into competitions- the regionals and he puts a few in when he goes to the world taxidermy conventions, too. he has blue ribbons all over his shop... (not that i'm partial or anything) :no
    can you still learn through mail? i assume internet has outdated that whole method. i'm sure there's nothing like an actual school, though.
    for starters, see if the taxidermist you use will let you sit in and watch while they work. you can pick up on little techniques that way.
