This morning was my nephew's first turkey hunt ever. Started off with a bang...gobblers making a racket everywhere around us. Things cooled down a little as the birds hit the ground, they decided the property south of us was sweeter. We didn't have to wait long though till we heard some gobbling off to the east of us. Some subtle calling seemed to do the trick as 2 longbeards worked their way in. Jacob took this nice eastern at 8 a.m. this morning. 24lbs 11" beard and 1" spurs. I wish my first bird would have been this nice!!!
