Youth Hunt

    Did any of you take part in the youth hunt that have in Sept. . If so how do you go about finding info on it .As I have may have 2 kids that may be interested in doing it this year . And how did you make out . These 2 kids are really kean on going duck hunting and both there dads don't hunt so I would like to help them out . So any info you have would be great . Thanks

    I might be wrong Jab...but contact your local DNR. They should have or can get you in contact with someone that does have the info.:tu :tu

    Did it last year and it was great to see a young hunter experience the thrill for the first time. If you need help with taking them out PM me and I am willing to help out.

    Problem is that you require to have your hunting safety course, at least here in Quebec, so basically the youth hunt is geared for kids that already hunt but probably don't hunt waterfowl. The advantage is that they can hunt waterfowl with you without having a migratory bird license. They are already hunters to start off with.

    I have my hunters safety course took it a few years back. So thats no problem . Yup sure will WDC

    In Nova Scotia, each kid must be atleast 12 years old and have passed a hunter safety course prior to Waterfowl Heritage Day. My Godson was 12 last September and he had a great time. He limited out in 25 minutes but it took him 28 shots to do it! I was supplying the 20 guage hevishot, so I cried every time he missed.

    Yea but if you hooked him for life it is one of the best investments that could ever be made!!!
