Good luck to the little fellas and the big boys both! DE & VA both open up. I'm looking to get a bird for a youngster myself in the AM. should be a good morning - they seem to get fired up on a nice morning after some rain!

Jack and I took my grandson Tate this am. Called in 3 hens to get the ball rolling. Boy they sound good! They moved on followed by 3 jakes. The dominate one stayed around for 1/2 hour and knocked over all the decoys and tried to have his way with them. Quite a ruckus. Kept calling and in comes a LB and Tate shot it. The Jake never left till we got up. Talk about brain cells being eaten by hormones!

Tate was very cool when the Jake was attacking the decoys while the long beard was slowly coming in from the field. Then the gobbler bolted right at the posturing Jake. BLAM Tate jelly headed him. Even after the gobbler was down the Jake kept after the counterfeits. He did go over and inspect the fallen bird but just seemed want to manhandle the decoys. Way Cool . Great hunt.
