Wow I read that during my lunch and realized I never took a bite of any of my food. Great encapsulation of the hunt. Thanks for sharing that with us. Two kids just left the nest and the last leaves next year. I foresee many hunts out west and in Africa with a good friend of mine who has been several times. Thanks again Steve!

Africa should come with a warning label. More addictive then any drug and more expensive.

Steve can you get by with a Weatherby 300 for most game. First trip I am looking at Wildebeast, Kudu, Springbuck, type animals.

Bwana 1- You are my idol, I can only hope to reach numbers like that without living on the street.

BP- 300 Weatherby is perfect for all plains game. Go with the heaviest premium bullet that shoots well and you can't go wrong.

All of my plains game, (except this trip) were killed with a 300 wsm, shooting 180 gr barnes tsx. Killed everything with one shot (wildebeest, nyala, kudu, etc)

    Wow. :bow

I always try to tell myself that I don't really want to go to Africa, then I read/see stories like this and I start reconsidering all over again.

That is not just a hunt, it truely is an adventure of a lifetime. :tu

    ...someday I'll go... maybe. :D

Hutty I really envy you, why you are a regular Teddy Roosevelt!! Wish I could take an African Safari trip just once, much less every year! Awesome. :bow

I am wondering how the Zimbabwe inflation rate of a 100000000% affected your hunt? I guess foreign currency goes much farther though.
