Masterful performance tonight. 7+ innings of shutout ball. It's a topsy-turvy world when Bumgarner has a dead arm, Timmy is not quite ready for prime time (as a starter), Cain gets no run support (deja vu?) and Zito baffles the Cards. It is great to see this. Props to Zito for never giving up during the dark days.

I sit and listen to the game on my iPhone. DirecTV is having a dispute with my local Fox station and the game is blacked out on my MLB internet access package. I watched last nights game in a bar, but not being a bar person I could not go two in a row.

I spent this evening drinking wine and working on the duckboat and decoys out in the garage in prep for a hunt tomorrow. Just like the old days, where men puttered around the shop with a transistor radio carrying the local team's major league game. No transistor radio in 2012...no KNBR in Northern Idaho. Thank you mlb.com, live game audio and the iPhone. :clap

HH. You forgot one other blessing. You did not have to listen to Mcarver.

    Life is good.

You are right about that. I was telling my wife the other night how much I hated McCarver...I did get to listen to Miller, Kruk, Kuip and Fleming, which is always preferable. And...Jon Miller's signature "Adios, Perota!" call when Panda raked that ball into the right field seats.
