well the last one was a good one! tried to shoot only sprig and mallards but those drake wigeon are hard to pass up.
Took 2 juniors out in driving rain and 20 plus mph winds Saturday and young men had a blast.

So I have been using the same blind bag for the passed 10 to 12 seasons, and it fits everything I need for a day in the blind plus some extra room but still roughly the size of a car battery.
Just got around to patterning a box of Hevi X that I've had sitting on the shelf since last year. While my patterns were acceptable I cut a shell open to get a pellet count. These are 1 1/4 oz. #4's and I counted 238 pellets. This is remarkably close to #4 steel in pellet count for the same weight load. I'm going to cut a few more open to compare.

Lets say you find a spot in the in La/AR, you see mallards, teal, gaddies, pintails, wigeon etc. What species do you need in your spread to decoy any of those birds?
As this season winds down, what new gear is worth it, what gear is failing.....?
