Switching it up a bit. Elk season is coming up quick out west. Elk are on the top of my list of animals to hunt. My son has a muzzle loader bull tag for a late October hunt. We're packing into a wilderness area that we have been hunting for 15 years.
Looking to go next spring/summer . Halibut and salmon .nice lodge,good food . Anyone have any recommendations? 2 people and the guide. Not interested in a boat with other people unless there with me .
Looking to get some for the dog to practice some upland hunting and may go to a couple ranches and shoot a few over him since we don’t have pheasant anymore. Wondering if they are okay to eat.
Most bird suppliers here offer phez and chukar, same with the game ranches.

I'm at best an average shooter. When I shoot ducks (or any bird for that matter) I typically have bruises the next day where I shouldn't. Those are the shots that I miss or maybe just break a wing. Or worse, cripple a bird. Some days are better than others. Like those days where I kill 6 birds with let's say 8 shells and then shoot 8 shells to kill my 7th bird.
It's been a crazy year and I never got a day to pick up my decoys after season. My bride went down around February with hip nerve problems and time got away from me. She had surgery in May and then another surgery in July on her knee so I've been mom and dad.

I like his style, I like his videos and I like his philosophy on duck habitat management.
I'm a lab guy and I would like to hear from other lab guys. I've never based my dog on color of his coat. I go on a mission, study the litters, health clearances, and then go out there and make an informed decision.
So I'm curious what everyone uses to season. It seems it's a regional thing. Maybe that's just in my head.
I use to use Montreal Steak on red meat, still do some, or just salt, pepper, and worchester sauce.
