I sat on the roof of my parent's house, near Tulsa, Oklahoma, and shot at passing geese. Unfortunately, there are no photos of my attempts. If tungsten had been available back then, I'm sure I would have been more successful.
Just a thought. You might be able to reduce the forearm indentions by "steaming" them. I did that successfully on an unfinished stock but never tried it on a finished one.
I found this set in my dad’s gun closet. It was in a display pack marked “Remington 1100/11-87 synthetic stock and forend”. Obviously it’s not. The forend has a few indentions on the bottom (see pic 5) and the stock “feels” like the grain is ever so slightly raised (see pic 4 of straight...
Reviving a dated thread. I'm about to give up on loading 28 ga TSS/steel duplex any time soon. I've had no luck sourcing 28 ga Cheddite hulls or 28 ga TPS wads. All I've found so far are Cheddite primers, 28 gauge primed red Fiocchi hulls and "premium priced" Lilgun Powder. To date, I've had...
I finally lapped the Leupold medium height rings today and installed the Leupold VX-3 1.75-6x32. At low powers I’m seeing a little distortion from the barrel in the bottom of the scope sight-picture but I want to keep the scope as low as possible so I’ll live with it. Pics below show how the...
It’s a pain if you are hunting alone to lift/slide the 12’ out of the 18’, put it in the truck, throw all the decoys/gear back in, pull it out, reattach the motor, etc. Why can’t you use the 18’ in the WMA?
Not sure what I was thinking at the time, but I ordered the wrong scope rings. The Marauder has an 11mm rail ... not a 3/8" so I sent the rings back to Amazon. I then dug around in my scope base/ring inventory to find a set of medium height 11mm Leupold rings (gloss). Upon mounting the rings...
Are you looking for a shorter barrel Citori? I'll trade my excellent (1994) Browning Citori Lightning Invector Plus 20ga w/ 26" barrels for a comparable Browning Citori 20ga w/ 28" barrels. If interested I'll post or send pics of said Citori.
BUT, when it’s 100 degrees outside and the basement is 67 degrees I don’t mind taking 3 times as long to load a round even if it’s “overkill” in the precision category.
The first pellets I ordered were JSB Match Diabolo’s (18.3 gr) scheduled to arrive today. My Leupold PRW 1” High Cross-Slot scope rings won’t get here until Monday or Tuesday. I wasn’t paying attention to how high the magazine protruded and hence thought low PRW’s I already had in hand would...
650's are nice loaders and auctions are an excellent way to get Mec loaders at a great price. I have four Sizemasters (12, 20, 28, 410) and two 600 Jr's. (12, 20) that I bought from auctions. I stopped shooting trap tournaments a long time ago so I really don't have a sound reason to have...
