Got out today and checked the boxes. 3 out of 5 are occupied with hens and eggs. 4 of 5 boxes are wood and I understand this is what wood ducks prefer. We were gifted a plastic box and it is unoccupied, although we have a pole barn under construction near it, maybe too much activity. I tapped...

New to the habitat forum... Last Summer the wife and I finally aquired a small chunk of land (21 acres) mostly ag field with a very woodsy, vegetated pond that the wood ducks seem to really like. Shot a few here last fall. Put up 5 poles and boxes early this spring and most seem to be occupied...
