Been following a group on instagram for a bit now and really like what they've been doing. As legislation arises that pertains to wildlife and/or hunting opportunities, they organize who the key contacts are and will send an email out stating your support or lack of to all the necessary...
Having accomplished all I had hoped to way ahead of schedule on my midwest swing - thought it'd be worth burning my momentum off in a tough one - Arkansas.
Bonce finally gets back on the road and starts his next swing in North Dakota.. Check out the missing feather in his fan.. I'd bet I had my chance on him the week prior.
Jacob finally ends his "lucky" streak and actually hits a bird.. or 2.. in the same day.. in 2 states. His filming on the other hand.. not so fortunate!
Yes. It makes no sense to me why we would keep 2 zones now (never really made much sense to me in the first place to think of it). Hell.. do away with the "zones" all together.. 400yds off shore = huntable. Stop pacifying the special groups/counties.
While I'm common sense dreaming lets...
While it doesn't pertain to ducks.. The real issue I have with these proposals is about changing the tree stand rule allowing permanent tree stand placement on public. That is conflict just waiting to happen. Blackwater just went the opposite direction with it... why? Particularly thinking...
Get rid of sea duck season - I'm fine with that. I don't believe it truly takes advantage of the 60 allotted days to align with when sea ducks are actually here, but I believe its to help out the species which are relentlessly getting beat up when regular duck season goes out.. so I get it...
The second part from the Nodak video.. same morning.. I cross the border into South Dakota and locate a flock pretty quick which was well worth the price of admission as I was treated to a spitting/drumming show like I had never seen/heard before. 2 states before noon!
After killing in Minnesota I made my way west into North Dakota and roosted a good sized flock. Slipping underneath turkeys is a really unique experience and this one put on a hell of a show. And yes.. Dang gun clicked on that second shot - still should have pulled off the double but alas!
If you go back to Ep 9 - I started my midwest swing in Iowa, very glad to be out of the southeast. I jumped up to Minnesota a day before the season opened and pinned one down for the next morning. Classic off the roost hunt that was just perfect, well.. sorta.
It's that time again. We have a LOT of videos that will be running 3 days a week from now all the way til the Friday before Maryland Turkey season...
If anyone remembers my strugglebus in Mississippi where I could not find a gobbling bird.. well I was sharing camp with Allan and Jacob...
It's tough and you need to be really careful if up against bluebill limits. I've seen them flying with scaup quite a bit as well which makes it even more complicated. I've always viewed them as "bonus scaup".. i.e. you shoot assuming they are bluebills then get the nice surprise when they...
