    Change in Fed. Waterfowl law?

Actually, these regulations get reviewed occasionally. The last major review was in 1973 and then some minor reviews have occurred since then. Opening the sub-parts of Title 50 CFR will show you if/when they were last modified. You can see the major changes from 1973 here...

    Change in Fed. Waterfowl law?

Migratory game birds are governed by Federal law as well as buy state law. The Federal regulations set guidelines that the states must follow. States can make the requirements of Federal law more stringent than Federal law but cannot make the requirements less stringent. Title 50 Code of Federal...

    Change in Fed. Waterfowl law?

Do you know of any states that do not require a business to be licensed - I don't. I don't know what Federal agencies come into play but I'm sure they do. But a license to operate a processing business would come from the state. Similar to an FFL holder; they have to have a business with an...

    Change in Fed. Waterfowl law?

A licensed processor MUST identify the contents of the package to include species and count of each species. I.e., our Texas outfitter marks the vacuum sealed bags with species of bird (Lesser Canada goose, Sandhill crane, White fronted goose, Ross's goose, etc.) and the count for each bird...

    Change in Fed. Waterfowl law?

No Sir, I am not agreeing to that. It absolutely matters who processed it. If you process it yourself without the license authorization to do so, then you would be in violation of the law. Which season matters not. But it MUST be processed by a facility licensed to do so to be legal.

    Change in Fed. Waterfowl law?

Our outfitter in Texas is a licensed processor and we do this every year. No issues at all.

    Change in Fed. Waterfowl law?

I hunt with a group of 8 that travels to the Texas Panhandle to hunt geese & cranes each year. The outfitter we use is licensed as a 'migratory bird preservation facility' and breast out the birds each day, vacuum seals the meat, marks the packages as to contents, and quick freezes it. We can...

    Duck hunting has been slow

Same in the north end of the state. Two-hunter take last trip out. I've been ice fishing. :)

    Big Ducks

It's a situational decision. If you're hunting in an area that has rafts (hundreds of birds) within a few blocks of your location, it is going to be difficult to pull birds to your spread. There will be a ton of motion visible to the birds in the air from the live rafts. It is very difficult...

    Big Ducks

Have you tried using only 5 to 8 decoys total? I've had limit days on 'big' ducks using only 3 decoys in tight pockets and 7 or 8 decoys on bigger open areas. In Canada one year we shot 2 limits of snow geese using only 3 stuffer speckle belly (white front) decoys. Big spreads are not always...

    Whats the snow juvie count

We saw 5 snows fly over today about 10;30 this AM. We were hunting BRBR Unit 1A. Shot 2 limits of ducks and one Canada goose. Good day, but VERY cold. Gonna be colder tomorrow.

    Wader woes

Sorry to hear that. I've been using it on waders for the last 4 years and have not had that experience. And no, I'm not a FLEXSEAL rep. Haven't done anything but play for the last 15 years. I just recommend products that IMHO work.

    Wader woes

You DID get a good deal on them. I ordered mine on 10/06/2019 and paid $299.99; $50 off. I've used them without the liner for 5 hunts so far and they are great. Like Native NV said, I'll be putting the liner in for the rest of this week as the temps are going to range between 13 and 35 for...

    Help old timers disease, forgot!!

The only product you will ever need to seal leaky waders is FLEXSEAL (I use clear). For seam leaks, I spray it on the inside and the outside in the general area of the leak. It works on all wader material types. For a tear or puncture leak, I use the FLEXSEAL TAPE on the inside only. I've...

Duck Hunter Gone A Heartfelt Reminder

I didn't know Tony and never heard of BOSS shells. But it is indeed sad to hear of the tragic loss of one of our brethren. Doubly sad because it was preventable. I also find it sad that some are bickering about the merits of waders on a thread that SHOULD be focused on the sad loss of one of...

    Wader woes

Since the Utah season runs October to January (107 days) and I’m retired, I get to hunt a lot and in all conditions. In the past I have always worn breathables early and neoprene after ice up. I’ve used Cabela’s products for at least the last 30 years. Since the advent of breathables with...
