I have considered something similar, I was going to embed the nutserts into wood runners and glue them to the finished hull. That way I could have a runners solidly glued in place with replaceable plastic wear strips with out any intrusions into the hull itself

    How early . . . ?

I have many fond memories of the old noon time opener. When you would pull into the parking lot and start getting ready you could look around and see the same look of excited anticipation on every face young and old. Like you say it was an event, something special, a tradition. The thousands of...

    How early . . . ?

Yes I remember those areas. We used to out walk almost everyone as well. But age, bad hips and bad lungs from a lifetime of working for a living have taken their toll on my dad. My own legs are not what they used to be, my activities in my younger years were not kind to my body ..lol.

    How early . . . ?

I've always walked. The last couple years I have been all about staying away from people so I ended up hunting the "fringe" areas. Good thing is not a lot of people, bad thing is not a lot of ducks. Last year I fired 5 shells and got one duck. This year I'm just going bare bones. I'll pull into...

For best results, wash it with soap and water, dry it off, scuff sand the entire surface, wipe it down with acetone or a degreaser, then paint. You don't need to sand it hard but you do need to break the shine of the surface so the paint has something to "bite" into. A paint won't stick to a...

I've used the US Composites epoxy with good success if you are have a lot of areas to glue or are going to go ahead and replace all the runners while your at it I would get a kit from them. If you are just doing a spot or two the home depot stuff should work.

Put a set of oars on it. You won't win any rowing competitions but at least you can keep it in a strait line.

Bluecollar$,, That boat looks like it moves right along. is it a 7 hp motor? Some of these little mud motors have cavitation plates and others do not. Does anyone know if one an advantage over the other?

Way to go hebronhunter that boat turned out excellent. Do you happen to have a photo of the boat sitting still in the water? That predator motor is the same one I was considering for my boat and I was wondering how much it would weight down the back of the boat when not in motion.
