They’re a little slower than what I’m used to shooting. Anybody ever try these on honkers? And will they kill geese at 40 yds?

Couple years ago used a box of old Federal BBs that I found in my dad's closet. Gray box from probably the late 90s. 1250fps I believe. Worked great!

1300 fps 1 1/4oz BB's kill 10 pound Canadas at 40, no problem. Pattern a few to find the right choke and get to killin.

Have killed many geese with 7/8oz of 4s at 1300fps (headshots). Also killed many with 1.375oz of BBs at 1300fps. Both good to 40, but totally different applications.

1300 fps Larger Pellets work great , I would favor BB's ,BBB's or T's !
It's a special application as the larger pellet retain velocity and carry more energy to the impact zone !
Like what's been said , pattern a few as it (normally) takes less constriction in your choke to pattern well !
LM (.015) or Mod (.020) patterns good for me !

I’d give em to the neighbor kid and load some 1550’s.

I never really cared for those slower loads shooting geese with 2,s & BB,s. in 12,s. Shooting factory mod. chokes they'd work inside of 30 yds. but just didn't seem to kill well much past that. Maybe better choking would have made a difference but those were back in the days prior to selections we've got now. All the difference in the world when I tried the first 1450FPS loads which if I recall were the original Win. BLK. Bx Supremes years ago in 1 1/4 oz. 2,s. I,ll take a load at or above that 1400 threshold in steel everyday compared to those slower loads.

I bought some heavy slow loads in 3 one time and they couldn't penetrate mallard skin at 35 yards.

Would breast the duck and find 10+ pellets above the skin.

Non stop cripples.

Won't touch steel under 1500fps now.
