For anyone interested in the factory loads, Rogers has the Nitro steel 15/16oz for $159 per case and free shipping. That's about as cheap as I've seen it. I ordered a case so I will have it IF my opth says it would be safe. If I end up not being able to use it, somebody can.

Very good deal. The last Nitro Steel 16 bore ammo I bought here (Canada) was 46.00 a box. I got a "deal" for a case @390.00. Oh well I could have spent it at a casino.

1453745813204.jpg I don't use factory steel loads in the 16 ga. Way too anemic. I use 7/8 oz. reloads around 1550 fps. VP-80 wads and 27.5 grns. of Steel powder. Works very well.

Not everybody needs a hyped up handload to kill ducks. For birds under 35 yards almost anything works and 30 and under literally anything kills birds graveyard dead. It's a good deal for those that know that so I was sharing.

Good on you. Not everybody hunts private property. I hunt public land almost every time I go out. Believe me, I kill almost all my birds in the wheel house.

I didn't post thia for a pizzin match. I posted it trying to be nice and turn those that would appreciate it onto a decent deal. If it makes any different I hunt public 100% of the time. Doesn't matter."anemic" ammo still kills birds, always has always will.
