Hunted a marsh today and saw less than fifty birds, and most of those were pintails and mallards. Same place saw several thousand teal on the opener. Crazy the amount that left already but I guess that's what happens with the amount of hunters out there

Fantastic morning! Got set up and not much was moving on the marsh I was hunting. It was fairly foggy so that may have hindered things. There were quite a few birds coming in from behind me but they just landed out in the middle and never even worked me. After sitting for about 20 minutes and knowing I only had maybe 40 minutes left to hunt before I had to pack up and get to work, I decided to let out a shot across the water to get birds moving. Haven't done that since I was probably in college but it was effective. I proceeded to limit in almost exactly three minutes. Four green wings, and two blue wings. Probably my fastest limit ever from first to last bird. Still had time to go home and shower before work lol. Now we have very large hail and tornadoes in the forecast for today, which is pretty rare for this time of year in the high plains. Would be a first for me if I hunted and storm chased in the same day. Very strong cold front tomorrow coming through should bring some fresh birds down also.

Yikes, huge drop in numbers this morning compared to what I had been seeing.

Still some blues around. Lot more greenwings now. It was 45 degrees this morning so I'd guess a lot moved on.

All the birds we killed this morning in the basins were all blue wings.
