Tough weekend for me, buried a great friend and hunting partner Sat. Lost the battle with Covid. Over 20 years hunting and fishing together.
Hunted this afternoon to get away from everything and scratched one. Lots of birds but they didn’t want to be where I was. All went to sheet water in the smart weed and no cover to hide in.

Yesterday was a crap show, like most openers. Shot ducks, but it was a circus. Today was more enjoyable. For all the doom and gloom of canada freezing up, i expected to see more mallards. 95% summer ducks is all im seeing, teal, pintails and a few widgeon.

    Sorry about your friend stormer

I only hunted Sat and didn't see many ducks flying. Don't know if the high winds had them pinned down or what. I know we could see a lot of area and the only thing in the air were dang seagulls by the thousands it seemed. We managed 2 pintail's and a immature drake mallard.

Any luck NB? We had a field 1/2 mile from city limits and another group got in between us and the line. They shot at the first groups that flew out, we never fired a gun.

    Ya 7 geese 1 mallard. .
Thought we'd see more ducks .and we should have got the rest of our geese . The dog was chasing a very live cripp all over the pond .had 2 good bunches that didn't like that . Saw both ducks and geese migrating.

We worked our butts off yesterday and killed 2 limits of ducks. Appears we picked up some more ducks or maybe yesterday the clouds were light enough we could finally see a little better.
